SHOOT #1 - INTRODUCTION SHOOT
For component 2, I have decided to pick the theme 'Choice of Colour'. I've decided to pick this as I feel like I have a lot of freedom within this topic to photograph numerous things without much restriction.
For the first shoot, I've decided to take inspiration from the photographer : Lana Jay Lackey. She'd done this specific shoot for the Magazine ' Sedition'. I wanted to start this project with inspiration from this magazine since I've known of their work for a while now and I feel as though the theme of the current project works well with a lot of their editorials. SEDITION is a fashion magazine and during this project I want to experiment with fashion photography.
IN DEPTH ANALYSIS
The title of this is piece is unknown to me however, it is for the SEDITION MAGAZINE created by Lana Jay Lackey. This is an example of Fashion photography . The composition shows a group of images of a person on a coral coloured back ground: some of the images are close up and some are portraits. The top of the image has bold capitalised text. The techniques used are artificial lighting along with height, zoom & angles. I assume the photographer had used Photoshop to compose the images together. The patterns in this are created from the vertical lines in between each coloured section and from the blazer that the model is wearing. The lines draws your eye to each individual picture. Lines from the blazer, especially draw your eye to the middle images. The colours in the image are bright and lively which contrasts to the images of the model as he looks very exposed from the artificial lighting.
SHOOT PLAN
After looking at the work of Lana Jay Lackey, I intend to create my own images based around the theme of 'Choice of Colour' . For this shoot, I am planning on taking them in a studio based set up. The techniques I am planning to use are: the use of natural lighting, height, zoom &angle and depth of field. For the editing process, I am looking to create something similar to that of Lana Jay Lackey. On an editing software, I am going to try and copy the the composition, as well as playing around with the tones of the images to make sure they really stand out.
SHOOT REFLECTION
For the first shoot of Component two, I have decided to photograph portraits of my model in a space that recreates a studio set up. The techniques I have used for this shoot are some editing skills, which weren't overwhelmingly difficult, however, the process challenged me and taught me knew Photoshop techniques. The techniques I had achieved with my camera are ones I was planning on using which are: zoom&height&angles and the ability of using artificial lighting.
In my opinion, what went well is the ability to recreate the composition of the image from my in depth analysis which was achieved with the help of editing. I think that my shoot could improve by
